Thank you very much Korean government for your precious time and unceasing endeavors dealing with this urgent, highly-visible, widely-impacting and time-sensitive incident, but, from the 3rd eyes perspective, analyzing and addressing the root causes of and locating the responsible entities for this recently recurred serious global trade chain blockage incident looks a little bit out-of-focus, and further problematic.
First of all, I would like to humbly post that my intention for this writing is never to ask Korean government to interfere and control Korean private sector markets and economy for the purpose of preventing and resolving this type of incidents at all even though I can also positively relate the thought that some degree of carefully designed market interventions aiming to rapidly induce some positive turning points and bring some breakthrough outcome might be necessarily at the right time depending on how the circumstances move forwards and are predicted.
The Korean government, however should have collected and analyzed the critical nature of big data such as the products' significance for overall national security that industry experts can advise, and the highly impacting key products' import routes, origins and amounts that Korean customs' import records can clearly provide, and then done something preventative, even the least amount of efforts; e.g., to simply post the updated real-time data to the private sector via some easy-to-access website in order to get the people at least aware of what's happening, ahead and on an ongoing basis.
This is the reasons why the big data, data science, data scientists, and A.I. have become very important and have gained the fame as invisible and silent superpower weapon that tremendously contributes to the nation's preemptive winnings on the ever unpredictable and fast-facing global information and commerce wars in the modern day society, trades and governances more than ever too.
If government doesn't so, who else should and can perform one of the most critical risk-analysis, problem-axx-void-xxance and incident-prevention roles for the people like this one?
This is the very fundamental duty of Korean government who is solely and solemnly responsible for protecting the Korean people and public interests.
I'm one of the warm-and-pure-hearted supporters of Moon administration, but this incident only gives me some negative feelings such as insecurities, helplessness and disappointments.
We should call neither bad for good nor good for bad either.
It's not too late even now for Korean government to quickly admit the mistakes and failures of these tasks, replace the responsible heads and workers of the related Ministries with the highly capable, vigilant, proactive and creative individuals who can perform their basic duties for the people right, and then organize and operate the government-led government-and-industry joint data-science research bureau, risk mitigating and solution driving industry consortium, and policy driving and result monitoring steering committees, and then construct the spontaneously responding, autonomously acting, and unbreakably solid legal and industrial mechanisms and the highly supportive and effective policies that mandate the prevention of the similar, unspeakably shameful, incidents from recurring. Otherwise, the severer incidents will happen again and again sooner or later for sure.
Very much appreciated again and always. Sincerely ?
