내외 귀빈 여러분, 안녕하십니까? 'K-문화, 세계를 잇다'를 주제로 '한국의 밤' 행사가 열리게 된 것을 축하합니다.

한국은 반만년의 역사를 가진 나라로 독특하고 창의적인 우리만의 문화를 간직하고 있습니다.

그리고 지금은 유구한 전통문화를 토대로, 문화와 창의적 아이디어를 융합하여 경제·사회 발전을 이뤄나가는 문화융성 정책을 적극 추진하고 있습니다.

아울러, 문화로 소통하는 평화롭고 행복한 지구촌을 건설하는 데에도 우리의 역할을 적극적으로 확대해 나가고 있습니다.

K-팝, K-드라마, K-푸드와 같은 K-Culture를 통해 갈등과 빈곤의 현장에 새로운 희망의 씨앗을 심고 있고, 문화가 지닌 치유의 힘으로 인류의 행복 증진에 기여하고 있습니다.

국경이 낮아지고 지구촌이 공동체로서 점점 하나가 되어가는 오늘날, 한국의 문화가 인류가 공유하는 문화자산으로 거듭나서 문화로 소통하고 어우러지는 지구촌이 되기를 기대합니다.

오늘 밤, 아름다운 한국의 문화를 함께 나누면서 많은 추억을 만드는 행복한 시간 보내시기 바랍니다.

I send my congratulations as you enjoy Korea Night under the theme, “K-Culture, Connect to the World.”

Korea is home to a very unique and creative culture of its own, one which flows from a history spanning five thousand years.

Today, Korea is striving to further enrich its culture.

We’re tapping into our time-honored heritage and we’re marrying our culture with creative ideas to further lift up our economy and society.

We’re also actively stepping up our role in connecting the world with the language of culture, making it a more peaceful and happier place.

Through “K-Culture,” whether “K-Pop,” “K-Drama,” or “K-Food,” we’re seeking to help plant new seeds of hope, where there’s conflict and poverty.

The power of culture to bring healing is advancing the cause of human happiness.

At a time when borders are eroding, when our world is increasingly becoming a shared community, I look forward to humanity being brought together and connecting through culture.

My hope is to see Korea’s culture go through the kind of renewal that would make it more accessible across the world.

As you enjoy the evening, may you get a taste of Korea’s splendid culture and take away lots of warm memories.
